Sharing Hope: Mental Wellness in the Black Community

Presentation for Black/African American communities

Sharing Hope is a three-part video series that explores the journey of mental wellness in Black communities through dialogue, storytelling, and a guided discussion on the topics below. Sharing Hope is meant to be an intimate conversation in a small group (15 people).  You are welcome to schedule one or all three parts of the series.

  • Community/Faith Leaders - For adults and community leaders engaging in conversations about mental health and wellness, the process can be liberating when done with patience and thoughtfulness. This session is intended to help participants engage in healthy dialogue and connect to additional support systems.
  • Youth - Talking about mental health and wellness can be difficult for some young people. However, this workshop can provide a helpful start. This session is intended to help participants engage in healthy dialogue, learn more about their own mental health, and connect to additional support systems.
  • Black Families - For families engaging in conversations about mental health and wellness, leading with empathy and compassion is critical. This session is intended to help families engage in healthy dialogue while learning how to care for their personal mental health and that of their families.
